Biography

Fan Jincai works at Beijing Badachu Plastic Surgery Hospital. His areas of expertise include breast reduction, breast lift, breast-related plastic surgery, abdominoplasty, facelift, and other plastic surgery procedures. He is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Peking Union Medical College and has published 36 SCI papers.

He is mainly engaged in clinical, teaching, and research work in the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery. He was the first to apply three-dimensional computer image simulation technology to assist in the design of tissue expansion. He conducted the first clinical attempt of tissue expansion after free flap transfer and the clinical application of intermediate-stage expansion in tubed flap transfer and grafting. He invented a technique using silicone thread to replace traditional tissue expanders. He innovatively invented the scarless expanded forehead flap technique. He was also the first person in China to apply tissue expansion technology to breast reconstruction after mastectomy. In hair transplantation surgery, he invented a multi-blade technique for preparing micrografts and a diamond-shaped micrograft hair transplantation technique. He invented the double-wing expanded scalp flap technique.

In microsurgery, he completed the world's first microsurgical replantation for penile skin avulsion injury. In oculoplastic aesthetic surgery, he invented a new surgical procedure using fascial complex suspension for the treatment of blepharoptosis. He invented a new surgical procedure for calf reduction by gastrocnemius excision. Since 1993, he has been invited to attend nearly 30 international professional academic conferences on plastic and aesthetic surgery held overseas, and has performed surgical demonstrations at universities and professional institutions in France, Italy, Finland, Egypt, and other countries. He has been admitted as a member or standing committee member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
